Established in 1956, Taipei Language Institute (TLI) is the first school in Taiwan to open a “Chinese as a Foreign Language Teacher Training Centre”.  Over 55 years, more than 10,000 Chinese as a foreign language teachers from all parts of the world received training from TLI and have presided over the teaching in Chinese departments in in renowned overseas universities and institutions.  The brand name of TLI is well recognized around the globe.

      Among formal celebrated teaching faculty members of TLI, we were honored to have Prof. Gongyi Gao (Stanford University), Prof. Zhiping Zhou (Princeton University), Prof. Zhichao Zhao (University of Chicago), Prof. Bilun Shi (Cornell University), Prof. Guangcai Chen (Wisconsin University), Prof. Siqi Chen and Prof. Huangyi Xia (University of Washington), Prof. Daizhuyu Lin (Yale University), Prof. Shangxian He (University of Hawaii), Prof. Xiaomin Wang (Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Whittier College), Prof. Aiying Sun (University of San Diego, California), Prof. Xueping Wu (U.S Defense Language Institute), Prof. Chunhua Yu and Prof. Yichun Cong (University of Toronto, Canada), Prof. Jiming Yin (Chinese University of Hong Kong), Prof. Fanghua Zhu (Singapore South School), and Yu hou, the Chinese teacher of the former prime minister Li guangyao.  They all contribute to carry forward the Chinese language and culture.
