The program consists of Mandarin Chinese classes, culture workshops, field trips, and optional weekend excursions. These tours, which are usually conducted at the TLI Roosevelt Center (HQ), are organized with the mission to create a genuine environment for language learning, practice, and application. Some of these exciting activities, including Tea Ceremony and Appreciation, Calligraphy Writing, Pottery Making, Sight-seeing Trips, and etc., provide abundant opportunities for students to not only understand and appreciate the local culture, traditions, and customs but also practice the language learnt for each culture topic. A maximum of 6 students are allowed per study tour to ensure maximum participation and successful learning outcomes. This is indeed a most thrilling opportunity for students to supplement their online learning with a total language and cultural immersion experience.

Teaching Quality and Supervision System
TLI has adopted a strict teaching quality monitory and supervision system embodying the following aspects:
I. On teacher quality
All TLI-China Online teachers possess relevant Chinese university backgrounds with proficiency in at least one foreign language.
All TLI-Online teachers, selected from our current teacher pool, have already possessed ample experience in regular classroom instruction. They all received professional training with regards to various aspects of TLI¡¯s unique teaching methods, as well as with regards to use of online classroom platform.
All TLI teachers can only teach online provided they have gained a qualification after examinations.
All TLI-China Online teachers are expected to conscientiously prepare for lessons and treat each trainee with the utmost concern and respect, so as to uphold the standards of the TLI brand name.
II. On teaching quality
Public classes will frequently be given by outstanding teachers with ample experience in regular face-to-face teaching, and TLI requires its teachers to observe and imitate experienced trainers¡¯ teaching so as to learn from each other, thereby ensuring an environment of high-quality instruction.
The online classroom system offers TLI the option of video recording, and videos will be made and sampled randomly as a supervisory tool so as to find out problems and correct these promptly, thereby guaranteeing teaching quality.
Students¡¯ regular after-class assessment will offer an important basis for the evaluation and supervision of teachers.
At various intervals, TLI-China Online will ¨C through e-mail ¨C remind students to fill in the students¡¯ feedback survey on TLI-China Online, so as to improve services in a timely and comprehensive manner.
All teachers are required to conduct the online instruction at the site of TLI¡¯s e-classrooms, except during special periods or for special circumstances ¨C allowing TLI to offer a more stable network. A professional classroom attitude is hereby guaranteed.
III. On the assessment of study gains
At the commencement of studies, an online proficiency test will be given to all students registered for TLI-China Online. The test will be administered by professional teachers, and the test will ensure clarity with regards to students¡¯ proficiency levels.
TLI will appoint an experienced counselor to each trainee. This counselor will be responsible for making an individual curriculum and study plan according to the trainee¡¯s specific circumstances, ensuring that each student makes the utmost improvement within the shortest possible time. The counselor will participate throughout the study process, will oversee the trainees¡¯ progress, and will evaluate the effectiveness of the training.
A test lasting one or two class hours will be given after the completion of a course. After the test, the counselor and teacher will discuss the study results, and make any necessary adjustment to the plans for future studies.
